Anyone in the world who bought an iPhone 3G in the last 6 months…

But anyone in the world who bought an iPhone 3G in the last six months without being told by a friend or neighbor that Apple would almost certainly be releasing a new model in June was illiterate and friendless.

A comment by Glenn_Fleishman in response to the The Macalope trashing ZDNet’s Adrian Kingsley-Hughes’ comments on Apple.

Wood iPod Mini

Check out this very cool wood-cased iPod mini. Even, apparently, the click wheel cover is mm-thick wood.

Pixar grants girl’s dying wish with home viewing of ‘Up’

The girl, only 10 years old, died a few hours after watching the movie.

From the minute Colby saw the previews to the Disney-Pixar movie Up, she was desperate to see it. Colby had been diagnosed with vascular cancer about three years ago, said her mother, Lisa Curtin, and at the beginning of this month it became apparent that she would die soon and was too ill to be moved to a theater to see the film.

After a family friend made frantic calls to Pixar to help grant Colby her dying wish, Pixar came to the rescue.

The company flew an employee with a DVD of Up, which is only in theaters, to the Curtins’ Huntington Beach home on June 10 for a private viewing of the movie.

16GB iPhone Declared “End of Life” By Vodafone & Brightpoint

Because Anthony is a wuss, and pulled the post (probably because Voda shook a stick at him), I pulled this from Google’s cache:

Vodafone Australia marks the 16GB iPhone EOL

We usually don’t report on rumours here at MacTalk , but a trusted source has brought this to our attention this evening: Vodafone has sent out an email to retail staff stating that the 16GB iPhone has been marked as “End of Life” by Brightpoint, their supplier of iPhones.

Why is this interesting to us? Well it just adds further fuel to the fire that there will be a new iPhone very, very soon. What mixes us up is the fact the 8GB isn’t EOL, but the 16GB is. Perhaps a 32GB and 8GB model will be around, the 8GB being the value option for the price conscious set.
