Nick Minchin is a climate change sceptic apparently. Previously, it turns out, despite overwhelming evidence, he was a sceptic towards the dangers of second-hand smoke. How the hell does this clown get elected?
Senator Minchin’s stance flew in the face of voluminous reports by the US Surgeon-General, the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council, documenting nicotine’s addictive hook and the serious health risks for people exposed to secondary cigarette smoke. Even the US and British tobacco companies acknowledged the health hazards from passive smoking in internal corporate research documents from the 1970s, obtained by the US congress and placed on the public record in 1995.
Hello, a reaction from UpNorth. I have an article in my posession that appeared some years ago in the Observer mentioning that the WHO keeps the results under the carpet of a survey that proved that (1500 families of heavy smokers were followed) second hand smoking is not harmful. As the USA is the largest sponsor of the WHO -that figures…Just is Climategate figures…(scientists don’t get money when it cools down…)
Andre: Tell all the non-smoking bartenders who got lung cancer from second-hand smoke about your survey.
There is no doubt that Nick Minchin is evil. I wonder how many lives he cost protecting the cigarette companies. I wonder how many lives he is going to destroy by denying climate change just to furthher his political ambitions.
